Zoe's Place Ltd is a Queensland based not-for-profit charitable organisation that provides flexible support to families with a child suffering a life threatening illness. Zoe's Place is Queensland' first and only purpose built Children's Hospice Centre. Families who have a child with a life threatening illness living in Queensland, or receiving treatment in Queensland are eligible for our services. The term "hospice" is often perceived as cold and uninviting. But the actual meaning of the word is "a place of shelter, a haven for those on a journey who are in need", and this is the association that we want people to make with Zoe's Place.
Much more than just a place; we offer flexible support including, counselling, palliative, end-of-life and bereavement care for families and their very special children. Our support services are Centre, Community and Hospital based and are tailored to meet the unique needs of each family. We are also developing a sibling program and a parent/carer peer support network. Zoe's Place is a comfortable, friendly and serene environment surrounded by gardens and parkland. The Centre has 4 bedrooms, a play room and plenty of activities. Stage Two will have 6 bedrooms, a games and computer area and a multi-sensory room. Stage 3 will be an adolescent and young people's unit specially designed to cater for the unique needs of this demographic.
