For most families, the primary care giving environment is the home.
Our Family Support Services utilise professional staff and trained volunteers to offer a suite of services tailor made to each family's unique circumstances and support needs.
Professional Staff provide In-Centre palliative, end-of-life and respite care. We also offer community based end-of-life care. Trained volunteers provide invaluable assistance to the professional staff fulfilling carer roles within the Centre.
Staff are also available to visit families in their homes to discuss their support needs and formulate and/ or review a care plan.
Zoe’s Place also provides counselling for every family member, to help them cope with daily stresses; as well as specific grief counseling. In the event of death, Zoe’s Place is committed to help ease the emotional and physical stresses that impact upon the entire family when a child dies.
Siblings share a special bond. Dealing with the loss of a brother or sister requires acknowledging of that unique relationship and the emotions that arise when their brother or sister is seriously ill or dies. A Sibling program, guided by siblings, will be developed to meet these needs and ease the psychological adjustment at various stages of the family’s journey.
