I wish you could have felt grass under your feet,
I wish you knew what it was to laugh,
I hope you didn’t cry too much,
I hope your only tears would be tears of joy,
I hope you knew what love would be,
I hope you knew how real love would feel,
I hope you felt the pain of others,
I hope you didn’t feel too much yourself,
I hope you knew how to help those in pain,
I hope that you would at least try,
I hope you saw people for their character,
I hope their creed and colour made no difference,
I hope you didn’t suffer fools,
I hope you knew that first kiss,
I hope you never felt desperate sorrow And I hope you would let me know if you did,
I hope you would know the simple pleasures,
I hope it never became too complicated,
I hope that all would be good and right,
I hope that all in the world be for you,
But most of all, I hope and wish that you knew I loved you and I always will.
